The M169-00 is a TUSQ slotted nut specially designed for Martin-style guitars and others with similar specifications.
The Teflon impregnated Black Tusq is over 500 times more slippery than graphite and means that your guitar strings will slide over it and will therefore stay in tune longer and be less prone to breakage.
Black Tusq top nuts are slightly oversized and have extra length and height so that you can adjust them to fit your guitar by simply sanding them with a 200 grit sandpaper.
Measure the E to E spacing, width, height and length of your current top nut and find the closest match for the E to E spacing and a nut that is slightly larger in size than your current top nut.
